The 100% online MSc Finance, Leadership and Management programme provides training in financing longer- term corporate projects by developing a holistic view of the opportunities and risks present in financial markets. In addition to providing the fundamental tools and theories of finance, the programme places theories in the wider contexts of economics, management and organisational behaviour.

In this programme, you will develop three distinct skills required for effective leadership in finance

Admission requirements: 

You should have, or be about to complete a 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification) in:

Accounting and finance, ideally including some modules in other management subjects.
Management or business studies, where there has been a substantial finance, accounting and economics component.
Other relevant subjects where management, finance/accounting or economics make up around half of the modules you studied.

Alternatively, we may accept a 2:2 undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification in these areas) supported by professional qualifications or at least one year of relevant work experience. If you earned your undergraduate degree outside of the UK, you should check that it is equivalent to a 2:1. Our country-specific pages can help you to find out.

Applicants with experience in a managerial role without the specified academic qualification may be considered in exceptional circumstances.

If English isn't your first language you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability. We accept the following qualifications:

IELTS: 6.5, with a minimum of 6.5 in Writing and no less than 6.0 in all other components.
PTE: 61, with a minimum of 61 in Writing and no less than 55 in all other components.
CAE and CPE (from January 2015): 176, with a minimum of 176 in Writing and no less than 169 in all other components.
TOEFL: 87, with a minimum of 23 in Writing and a minimum of 21 in all other components.
Trinity ISE: level 3 with Merit in all components.

Note - You will not need to provide evidence of your English language abilities:

If you're from a specified majority English-speaking country.
If you've completed a degree in English in a specified country within two years of your intended start date.
If you've completed work experience at a specified English-speaking organisation within two years of your intended start date.



Underpinning the programme, this module introduces key concepts and techniques in innovation and business leadership, and management in public, private and third-sector organisations. You will learn to apply theories of strategic management in their practice.
This module explores the nature of operations management and its impact on competitiveness, through examination of operations strategy; process and product design;quality, performance and supply chain management; and project management.
Finance for Business aims to equip non-financial managers with core tools and techniques to be able to analyse financial performance, evaluate alternative sources of finance, explore different financial investment appraisal tools and evaluate the utility of financial information during decision making.
This module aims to provide a comprehensive review of the theory and practice of organisational behaviour and HR management, including leadership, team dynamics and culture, recruitment and selection, rewards, and diversity and ethics in the workplace.
Long-term customer and stakeholder relationships underpin business success. This module examines the role of marketing and ethical behaviour in creating that success, in the image of an organisation and the communication of brand. You will explore these concepts and practices across all business sectors and develop practical skills in writing a global marketing plan.
There is a range of theoretical perspectives underpinning financial practice; this module allows you to apply this range to their own operating environment; to analyse the role of financial theory in corporate strategy and behaviour;to appreciate the nature and purpose of financial planning techniques and to apply critical thinking to the theory and practice of financial planning.
Investment management continues the investigation of risk and return, adding the basics of portfolio selection, index models, equity valuation, the analysis of financial statements and the evaluation of portfolio performance.
This module allows you to explore different theories of asset pricing methodology and to understand the principles of risk and return. Examination of market efficiency, interest rates and yields, options and derivatives follows, together with an exploration of behavioural finance.
This module introduces a range of research methods and types of research projects. You will learn how to formulate a research question and to find answers using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
This module is a chance for you to plan independent research into either a current issue in management practice or a more theoretical problem.You will analyse relevant literature, develop a research plan and identify any ethical issues associated with your chosen topic.
By undertaking a longer piece of sustained research, reflection and writing, you will demonstrate: critical analytical skills; the ability to gather and synthesise data and literature from a range of sources; and subject specific knowledge. This will draw upon skills and knowledge acquired through your whole degree, including self and time management. You'll work under the guidance of a personal supervisor with expertise in the subject you're studying. They'll help you develop research questions and identify methods and theories to investigate and analyse your topic.
